2008 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PENINSULA DISTRICT
Peninsula District Report
The Annual meeting held on March 25, 2008, was a big success. We had 185
people registered to attend. The District Board awarded a President's Honor
Award to Dr. Steven Staples who is retiring from the York County School
Division as their superintendent this year.
Essay award winners and their families were special guests at our meeting.
We adopted our bylaws for the next five years, gave out membership awards and
were honored by our State PTA President, Melissa Nehrbass, and the State Vice
President, Debi Abadie who attended. We elected our officers for the 2008-
2010 term.
2009 ANNUAL DINNER INFORMATION....
Make plans to attend next year in April. This is a legitimate PTA expense.
Make sure to plan for the cost in your budgets for next year. This is your
one chance to make decisions that will affect your district, councils and
local units.
Newport News will be hosting the event in 2009. More info on official date
and where will follow. Our first choice for the date is April 23, 2009...
