Welcome to Lone Star Elementary! We are happy to have you and your children
joining us for what promises to be an exciting year. We have a big year
planned and look forward to sharing it with you.
The PTA’s mission is to be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant
resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the
education and well being of every child. Here at Lone Star, we strive to
fulfill our mission through events, fundraisers, and programs that educate
and entertain our members and their children.
This year, we are continuing many of the events that have made the Lone Star
PTA a star in the Keller ISD. The PTA sponsors Grandparent’s Day, the Back to
School Bash, Dad’s Club Campout, Father- Daughter Dance, Mommy-Son Date
Night, and the End of the Year Bash.
Additionally, we fund programs that support safety, health, and educational
programs. We also enrich the school for students through funding for the
Library, Counseling, Music, Art, and PE. We are able to accomplish this,
along with other programs, through membership dues, donations, box tops/soup
label collections, and fundraising.
We are one of the premier PTA’s in Keller ISD and we have our members to
thank for that! We look forward to your continued support.
The PTA’s theme this year is Back to Basics. By starting with basic
components in family and education we can work together to build successful
relationships and achieve great things. Communication is a key to making the
PTA a success. We have monthly meetings in the cafeteria, the Texan Tales
Newsletter and a website (http://worknotes.com/TX/Keller/LoneStarPTA/) that
will be active beginning in September. We also encourage you to provide your
email address so we can send you information on important events as they
approach. Please feel free to contact any member of the PTA Board via email
with any questions or in person if you see us at an event or around the
school.
The PTA’s vision is to make every child’s potential a reality. To accomplish
this, we need your help. Just like you, we are parents who want to enrich our
children’s education. Some of us work full-time or have other commitments
that keep us from dedicating all the time we want to our children. Through
the PTA you can still make a difference even if you just have a small amount
of time. When volunteers band together, we can accomplish great things.
Please take the time to attend meetings, provide input, and make our school
better. We can always use volunteers to help us with activities and events –
please join the parents, teachers, staff and administrators who are already a
part of the PTA in making our year one the kids will never forget. We look
forward to seeing you in the school and at all of the events!
