S.P.A.C.E. stands for Scotia-Glenville Parents Advocating for Challenging Education. SPACE was born of a desire for parents of gifted and talented children to inform and educate each other on available opportunities for their children. We exist to: • provide a forum to meet and discuss issues pertaining to giftedness • support the Scotia-Glenville School District's ongoing efforts to provide a learning environment that challenges its high ability learners, and ultimately benefits learners of all abilities • facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and school administrators, and • foster a deeper understanding of, and eliminate misconceptions about, the definition of giftedness SPACE, a chapter of AGATE (Advocacy for Gifted and Talented Education in New York State, Inc.), is a non-profit organization.
