- ADMITTANCE: application must be completed and signed by at least one parent or legal guardian prior to admission in the music school; this must be accompanied by a non-refundable pre-payment of the first month tuition. This deposit will be returned only if there is no acceptable space for the student.
- MONTHLY TUITION: shall be paid in advance, due in full at the first lesson of each month. Each month must be paid in full before the first lesson of the month commences and the tuition is due on that day whether the student attends that day or not. Tuition must be received before the first lesson of the month and if the student has not paid prior to the lesson commencing, no lesson will be given and lessons will cease. We realize problems arise and we will make every effort to accommodate payment arrangements. If no arrangements have been made the tuition must be paid within 24 hours of the first lesson of the month accompanied by a $15.00 late fee, no exceptions. Late payments will only be accepted, accompanied by the $15.00 fee. If we have not heard from the parent or legal guardian (cannot be a call from the student if a minor) within that 24-hour time frame we will assume that our contract is broken and we will fill your time slot. Re-application may be made and payment with late fee may be accepted with your old time slot, if available, or a new time slot, if available. Checks are acceptable. There will be a $20.00 charge for any returned check and the ability to pay by check will be rescinded.
- LESSONS: will follow the school year and a calendar will be handed out showing all lesson days and holidays. Private lessons are 40 to 45 minutes long when taking one subject and approximately one hour and 10 minutes for two subjects.
- MISSED LESSONS: will be rescheduled if a time slot is available with proper notification 24 hours prior to the missed lesson. The parent or legal guardian must phone me, not the student, unless they are of age. If a full month is to be skipped we can no longer guarantee your time slot unless prepaid.
- GUESTS: may not accompany the student during a lesson, including relations. Exception: Every 3 to 4 months the student may host a “performance day”. On this day the student may invite guests to join us in class for a special performance. Other exceptions may be negotiated prior to their regular class time.
- CLASS MATERIALS: we purchase books and sheet music for your student and re-embursement is expected when music is given to the student. If you wish to purchase your own music be sure to check with the teacher before purchase.
- ATTENDANCE: Please, be on time. Each student has their own time slot and must be on time to receive their full lesson. I will not cut into any other student’s time because of tardiness.
- RECITALS: At this time I have no recitals. They are very expensive and I am not sure they are very helpful. I am open to any suggestions and will discuss this policy as the need arises. I assist all of my students with their extra curricular activities; such as talent shows, play tryouts, etc. I develop suitable routines for their special talents. I instructed dance for years and love to choreograph routines including dance along with their voice talent.
- POLICIES: All policies are made to provide guidelines and are negotiable with prior agreement. Nothing is black and white and we are very flexible.
- AGREEMENT: By applying to, and signing the application you are agreeing to the terms as stated above, and you are acknowledging that you have read all of the school policies.
