About the Artist

Mary Ann Pals
is a pastel and charcoal artist
living in northwest Indiana. She
has enjoyed doing artwork all
her life. She has studied under
Larry Blovits, Alan Flattmann,
Sally Strand, Ron Monsma and
Richard McDaniel.

Pals keeps active in the art
world by: exhibiting (and
sometimes winning prizes-
Honorable Mention in Pastel
Journal's 'Pastel 100'
Mar/Apr '06), judging area art
shows and giving art lectures
(see Resume), serving on various
art committees and boards
(presently she's a member of four
art organizations and on the
Board of Directors at the
Chesterton Art Center), and
giving art lessons (see
Calendar). Her work can be seen
in numerous galleries (see
Galleries/Memberships).

Mary Ann has a passion for art,
but she also enjoys traveling.
She has visited most of the
United States, hiking and taking
many pictures. Back in her
studio, she tries to capture the
mood or special feeling she had
at a particular place. 'My
artwork is an extension of my
journey,' she explains. Won't
you join her on her journey as
you view her artwork?

Personal: Mary Ann is married to
Randy Pals, an electrical
engineer. They have 2 children--
Michael and Jill.
