Mary Ann Pals is a pastel and charcoal artist living in
northwest Indiana near Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes.
She has enjoyed doing artwork all her life. In recent years,
she has studied under Larry Blovits, Alan Flattmann, Sally Strand,
Ron Monsma, Richard McDaniel, and Leslie B. DeMille.

Pals keeps active in the art world by:
exhibiting her work and sometimes winning
prizes (Honorable Mention in Pastel Journal
magazine's 'Pastel 100', Mar/Apr '06), judging
area art shows (see Resume), serving on the
Chesterton Art Center Board of Directors, and
giving art lessons (see Calendar). Her work
can be seen in a number of galleries and
shows (see Galleries/Memberships).

Mary Ann has a passion for art, but she also enjoys
traveling. She has visited most of the United States,
hiking and taking many pictures. Back in her
studio, she tries to capture the mood or special
feeling she had at a particular place. "My artwork
is an extension of my travels," she explains. Won't
you join her on her journey as you view her artwork?
Personal: Mary Ann is married to Randy Pals, an
electrical engineer. They have two grown children,
Michael and Jill.
