Transportation Games

Children learn in three basic ways. They learn by kinesthetically
or hands-on, visual or auditorially. When you teach science why not
let them use their bodies, minds, eyes and ears. This is a series
of games on transportation which will encourage learning and fun!

Transportation Bingo

Materials: Bingo cards and chips

Lay a set of bingo cards at one end of the gym. Divide the group
into two teams and call out a vehicle; have the children take a chip
and find the appropriate vehicle. The first team to get a bingo or
to cover-all wins.

Matching Vehicle

Materials: Hoops and vehicle cards

Have a set of two vehicle cards and put one set in each of the
hoops. Students take turns finding a named vehicle. The child who
finds the most vehicles wins.

Match It

Materials: Vehicle pictures in three pieces

Have cards of vehicles in three pieces. Give each child a part of a
vehicle. The goal of the game is to find the most complete pieces.
The team that finds the most parts to a vehicle wins.
Car/Driver:
Have one blindfolded person be the "car" and one person be
the "driver." The driver must steer the car around the room, either
verbally or manually, without any collisions. For an additional
challenge, place obstacles around the room.

Weather Games

Children learn in three basic ways. They learn by kinesthetically
or hands-on, visual or auditorially. When you teach science why not
let them use their bodies, minds, eyes and ears. This is a series
of games on weather which will encourage learning and fun!

Weather Tag

Choose a season and name a person to represent that season. Before
that person is tagged, have them mention some activity or part of
nature that is a part of that season. If they cannot name
something, they are it. Students cannot repeat what any other
student has already said about a season.

Winter Dress Relay

Have kids get into two lines. Depending on the season, have them
dress up one person in the group with all the items in the team’s
bag. The team that dresses up their teammate first wins. Make sure
that an identical number of items are in each bag.

Fashion Madness

First, get a bag full of different funny clothes: hats, shirts,
swimsuits, boxers, skirts, coats etc. Then have all players sit in
a circle. With music playing, they pass the bag around until the
music stops. When the music stops, the player with the bag has to
close their eyes and reach into the bag. Whatever they pull out,
they have to wear. When the bag is empty, everyone votes to
determine funniest outfit.
