Who is Club Digz for?
Girls interested in playing volleyball from January through the first week
of June
--------------------------------------
What is Club Digz?
A girls’ volleyball team(s) registered with USA Volleyball
--------------------------------------
Where does Club Digz take place?
Practices will be in the North or South Gym at AJHS based on availability
Tournaments will be at various locations throughout the state (most likely
Phoenix and Tucson areas)
- We don’t know exact locations until the Tuesday or Wednesday
before the tournament
We are going to try to travel to an out-of-state tournament. Keep visiting
the website for future information.
--------------------------------------
When does Club Digz take place?
Practices are going to be Saturday and Sunday mornings (opposite of girls
basketball practices) until basketball season is over and then from 5:30 pm
to 7:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays (a rough schedule is attached)
Practices will start Saturday 12/6 (Paperwork is due Tuesday
12/2 – No paperwork, no practice)
Tournaments are one or two Saturdays a month
Tournaments will start in January and last through early May.
The out-of-state tournaments are a Thursday after school through Sunday or
Friday through Monday.
--------------------------------------
What does Club Digz cost?
There is a definite cost involved with club volleyball. There are three
options being considered:
1. A non-traveling team - cost will most likely be $300/player.
2. A traveling team - consider $800/player a rough estimate (based on
price of plane tickets, hotels, van/car rentals, gas, tournament entry fees,
food, etc.). An exact cost for traveling will be determined once we decide
which tournament we want to go to.
3. We could do a team that is a combined traveling and non-traveling
team. Girls who cannot afford to travel, do not travel, and if we have
enough girls who can afford to travel, they travel.
--------------------------------------
Who is the contact person if I have questions?
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Coach Heermans at 480-982-
7363 (home), 480-982-1110 ext. 2362 (work), or e-mail at jheerman@ajusd.org
(preferred method).
--------------------------------------
How are students transported?
Transportation to and from practices and tournaments is the responsibility
of the player and her parent(s). I would suggest carpooling with other
players.
