Snowflakes, a Flurry of Adoption Stories by, for and about children and teens
A student of mine (13-year-old Katie -- Ekatarina) and my son (15-year-old Paul Sergei), and I have completed our new book. It's a fabulous compilation of fascinating "snippets" of adoption experience, half of which were submitted by children ages 8 - 19. The stories will be of interest and help to adoptive families, prospective adoptive parents, teachers, health care workers, foster parents, and all others who have a connection to and interest in adoption. Of particular interest will be the fun, funny, and inspiring stories about and by children as they
transitioned from their orphanage or foster home to their new home, family, language, and culture. We also have included several very honest and open stories about challenging situations.
Who contributed? Many children and teen adoptees from all over the USA. Ages of contributors: most stories by children and teens are by 8- to 19-year-olds. There are a few stories by adult adoptees, and there are quite a few stories by parents and other family members as well. Each story contains a "golden nugget" of insight and inspiration. There is something for everyone!

2. A grrrreat product just got even better! In order to meet the needs of adoptive parents, I keep improving my adoption-specific language guides. :-) A new component is now part of the _Adopting From Russia_ language set: Phrases You Can Use in Court. This was added in 2007. In 2008 we added illustrated, bilingual flashcards to complement the CD and handbook. You'll learn Russian even faster now that you can practice with flashcards. Parents who want to read Cyrillic have a handy and user-friendly set of flashcards to study with and refer to. They are another great additionto my adoption-specific language sets, which I consider 'works in progress' to help adoptive families get to know each other better/faster, and to communicate with one another from the very beginning. You'll think they're neat! 'Adopting From Russia, a Language and Parenting Guide' now includes a set of illustrated bilingual flashcards...AND Phrases You Can Use in Court. :-)
