1) Adopting From CHINA -- MANDARIN c 2001 and 2002 T.Kelleher

It's available! The CD is wonderful! Three repetitions of each phrase
for plenty of opportunity to practice (two by native speaker Austin
Chao, and one by me, so you can hear a non-native speaker too). The
handbook is beautiful and has easy-to-read phonetic spellings. Thank
you to Families With Children From China for listing my language set as
a resource on their great website!

Cheryl writes: It was a FABULOUS trip, and the language set was
invaluable. Though our daughter was quite adept at letting us know
what she needed without knowing OUR language, we could pick up on
the essentials because of your CD — especially helpful when she
started pleading 'da bien!' (poo poo) as the airplane stewards
were warning us to fasten our seatbelts on the descent to Guangzhou
(yes, they let us use the toilet :-) I wouldn’t have expected to
need the words for 'not now, later' (she always wanted to take a
bath) or 'a little' (when wanting hand lotion or candy!) or
'tomorrow' (for plane rides) so much either, but this was one eager
     little girl!

Looking forward to receiving the Mandarin set...I used your Russian
CD when I adopted my son in 2004. It was a tremendous help. I even
ended up helping several other parents who hadn't learned Russian.
(What could they have been thinking?) I can't imagine not being
able to help your child through this already difficult time with a
    few words of comfort. Amy

** You'll hear my voice (I'm learning Mandarin just like you.) and the
voice of a native Mandarin speaker, my friend Mr. Austin Chao.

** Practice dialogs included (for example, Child doesn't want to go to
bed, and Child not feeling well).

** The 100+ phrases have been selected for practicality and ease of
pronunciation (when you meet, travel, bathroom, early days, etc.)

** Phonetic spellings in English are used to teach the Mandarin
pronunciations. These are all spelled with English letters.

** Each set contains 25 phrases written in Chinese characters that you
can use in several travel situations (especially great if you
        get in a "pinch").

           Thanks!

From customers: I just completed reading your book and we are using the
accompanying CD. I just wanted to give a note of thanks for a job well
done. My wife has brought home a number of hard back books written by
psychologists and other experts, all interesting and useful, but I feel the
advice you offered was priceless. It has given me more confidence and helped
set more appropriate expectations. Thank you. All the best, Mike

I think it is great work that you do - my heart aches for all of the children
that need homes, and for those who are in the early stages of adjusting to
their new homes and are frightened because they can't understand anything -
it is nice to have hands-on, practical advice and useful learning/teaching
tools from someone who has been through the adoption process. Your book was
very helpful. My husband chose your materials over others he came across
surfing the web. He is a tough customer and frugal - I was somewhat
surprised (but happy) that he bought your set! Susan

We heard about you from a Kazakhstan group. This is actually the second
language you've helped us with. We adopted a little Kazakh girl a few years
ago and now we are going to China! Kim and Mike

     From Mary and Mike:
'Just wanted to thank you for the outstanding
publication and CD for families adopting from Latin America. We have
just returned from Guatemala with our 5-year-old and your books have
been so valuable for us! Just yesterday when she woke up crying, I was
able to locate the dialog on Speaking to a Crying Child and use some of
the phrases. It is such a comfort to her and to us to be able to
communicate basic needs/wants, etc. Thanks a million and keep up the
great work - it is a wonderful service to adoptive families!

** Hundreds of adoption-specific terms and phrases in Spanish to use
        with your child and hosts!

     ** Practice dialogs included.

** I'm VERY fluent in Spanish and I'm a language teacher with 18 years
of experience -- it doesn't get any better than this!

** Includes Spanish spellings and easy-to-read phonetic spellings.

From Karen: 'We have been home with our little one for about
3 weeks now. Your book and CD were so helpful in communicating
to him those first days and now. He is starting to understand
some English, but I still need to be able to communicate basic
needs, etc. to him in Spanish. This investment was well worth
the money! Thanks so much for your help and for putting together
such easy to follow material! God Bless!!' :)

'We received the Spanish CD, and it's great. How I wish I had it
before my first trip to Guatemala to meet my daughter. I learned
some of these phrases there, but this CD adds a lot. It will
certainly make me and my husband more confident. The fun part
is that as I listen and repeat the phrases, I picture saying
them to our daughter and her answering me back! I'll certainly
recommend your CD to others. Ellen
