TOUCHING BASE 2...

Thank you for sending along information on our lost classmates. I don't
have much spare time to make phone calls to search for these folks, but we
really don't want anyone left out! So, I appreciate your help more than I
can say!

Kelly Drosche Vandiver and her husband of 13 years, Brad, have 3 children:
Mitchell - 11, Adam - 6 and Molly - 2. They have lived in several different
states and will be moving to Venice, LA this summer. Kelly has been a stay-
at-home mom since her oldest was born, but has recently added a job with the
state department of education to her routine that allows her to work from
home.

Orleans. They have a 18-year-old daughter Elizabeth, who is a high school
junior. Tim works on the drilling rigs in the gulf as a completions

I was happy to hear from Gailyn Hatcher Strobing yesterday. Gail got
married about 4 years ago. She is a litigation attorney, lives in St. Louis
and has two fluffy Persian cats. One of the highlights of her recent past
is that she and her husband lived in Moscow, Russia for about a year because
of his job.

And speaking of overseas, Kelly Sheils Hill is in the U.S Navy and has been
enjoying living in southern Spain for nearly three years. She and her
husband have no children and enjoy traveling.

teaching the Singles Sunday School class and Awanas. She also helped start
a group called Conway Area Christian Singles that is made up of singles from
area churches. With all of that and playing taxi driver for Mollie, she is
NEVER home. Their life is active and good!!!!!!! : )

Susan Horton Guy and her husband may be moving to France because of an
anticipated job change, but if not, she hopes to attend our reunion. They
will know more in the coming month. In the meantime, she says she is
staying busy with her kids' activities and work. Susan won her first 5k for
her age division last month (Isn't that cool?!) and her oldest will graduate
in May. Susan shared that her daughter "has been a trooper lately with some
major medical problems, but she is doing great now."

years. They have one son Kyle who is 12 years old. Jo Anna is a registered

Got some news from Carla Tate Norris this morning. She shared that she met
her "soul mate" while still in the Army and they have been married 14 years
in February. (Jay had just taken command when we had our last reunion and
wasn't there, but hopes to make this one.) He will pin on Lieutenant Colonel
in January or February. Carla's family has moved a lot since 1993, but hope
to stay in Texas for awhile now. They have two children, Wes, 12, and
Shelby, 8. Carla left the Army in 1993 when she got pregnant with Shelby
and was able to stay at home with her until last year. Then she got a job
teaching bilingual fourth grade. She has also earned a Master's degree in
Public Affairs, but as yet has not used it. It was just a goal that she
wanted to achieve.

Aaron Sartain is the dad of two teenaged sons, Caleb, who is 17, and Levi,
who is 14. Aaron has been practicing message therapy for 8 years and has
been an artist for the past 6 years. He is looking forward to seeing
everyone at the reunion.

Stacy Fugett Whillock is living in Pickton, Texas where her job involves
working with horses and livestock on a nearby ranch. She was previously
employed by Southfork Ranch, and she has even participated in a "Wild West
Show" of sorts! Besides the joy of being around the horses that she loves,
Stacy has been blessed to meet many interesting celebrities. And she still
loves to dabble with photography. Stacy has a fifteen-year-old son Ben.

Paula Starkey Kinggard has been married for 18 1/2 years and has 3 children,
Courtney, 16; Drew, 13 and Holly, 10. Her family lives in Conway, but the
children go to school in Vilonia. Paula worked for Dr. Craig Shirley and
Dr. James France for 10 1/2 years, but quit about 18 months ago to attend
UCA full-time (She had gone part-time for 2 years prior to that). She is
studying Early Childhood Education and hopes to graduate in December of
2003. Currently, Paula is working part-time for Dr. Shirley again, and also
works some for her Dad at Tru-Star Builders, as well as doing medical
transcription at home! Talk about a busy lady!

I got a neat surprise today...found out that one of my sweet kindergarten
kiddos is the daughter of Terry and Brenda (Moss) Stone! Who knew?! Terry
and Brenda are about to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in
February. They have 2 children, Kara who is 17 and a junior at CHS, and
Ashley, age 6. Brenda is the office manager for Dr. Diane France, and Terry
has worked for The Landex Corp as maintenance supervisor for 14 years.

Scott Zier dropped me a line last night. He has been living in Omaha,
Nebraska the past nine years. He and his wife Jean have been married for
almost 7 years and have two kids (really 3 he says)... Jennifer is 5, Andrew
is 7 months old and their dog, appropriately named Husker, is 12. After
spending 17 years in radio, Scott made a drastic change 4 ½ years ago. Now
he is working for Compaq Computers.

I also got a call from Christy (Limbaugh) Lewis! Christy and her three kids
live here in Conway. Her oldest, Jimmy, is 13, Emileigh is 7, and Joshua is
5. Those of us who have kids may have run into Christy because she works for
Arkansas Pediatrics of Conway.

Kathy (Dyer) Davis is Christy's co-worker at Arkansas Pediatrics. Kathy and
her husband Todd (class of 81) have two sons - Tyler, who is 12, and Gray,
who is 9.

If your back has been bothering you lately, you might want to touch base
with Scott Brown. He's a chiropractor these days over on 9 Medical Lane in
Conway. Scott is married to Stephanie Russ (class of 84).

Of course, if you need some blueprints drawn up, better call George
Thompson. George and his wife Kathryn have two boys - J.D. (age 7) and Ben
(age 6). George is a Design and Project Architect at The Fletcher Firm
Architects in Little Rock.

Kim Waller Prior wrote that she has a 13-year-old son named John-Tyler
(J.T.) and she works at Molex (in Maumelle) with several former classmates.
Kim is also a foster parent for the Faulkner County DCFS. Since June of
this year, she has cared for 17 boys, ranging in age from 10-days-old to 17-
years-old! She says it is very rewarding, but the kids are hard to let go
of when the time comes. Kim and some friends have established a non-profit
organization called CAFCO, or Central Arkansas Foster Care Organization.
Things are still in the "getting started" phase, but their ultimate goal is
to build a "foster care community" - a special neighborhood of homes where
foster kids will grow up together in a supportive, family atmosphere. A
very worthwhile project, don't you think?!

Lisa Fulmer Dyer (Kathy Dyer Davis' sister-in-law) checked in with this
news... she and her husband John (class of 78) will celebrate their 20th
anniversary in March. They have two daughters, Rachel 13 and Marlana 12.
Lisa returned to the workforce three years ago after taking 10 years to be
at home with her girls. She is Executive Assistant to the President of the
Chamber of Commerce in Lawton, Oklahoma where they've "retired" from Army
life. She says, "We spent 19 years traveling around the globe and it's nice
to finally settle down. As we only return home occasionally to visit family,
it's nice to catch up on some of the ol' gang!"

Paula Webb Fusilier and husband Jeff married in 1985. They lived in Memphis,
TN while Jeff was in dental school, and Paula taught in West Memphis those
four years (and had taught in Morrilton the year before). Their son Hayden
came along in 1990 - just one month before Jeff's graduation. They moved to
Hot Springs Village where Jeff began practicing dentistry. Paula stayed at
home with Hayden for 3 years before returning to teaching. She taught at
Jessieville Elementary for 6 years, but quit in 1998 after having another
baby, Natalie. Paula is currently staying home with Natalie while Jeff still
practices dentistry.

Kelly Graves Hix is living in Quitman these days with her husband Scott.

being a stay-at-home mom.

They have one son, Joshua -- one of my former first graders!

Heard from a couple of old classmates today (1/2/02)- one near and one far...

Donna Dukes-Williams wrote that she has been married to a wonderful guy
named Darrell for 18 years on Valentine's Day 2002. They have 4 beautiful
children, and in reading the Touching Base web page, she noticed that they
top the list for childbirth. (Can anyone beat 4?!) Their children include a
17 year-old daughter "Dashonna" who is in the 12th grade, a 15 year-old
son "Darius", a 6 year-old son "Dexavier", and their youngest is "Dasmine"
who is 5-years-old and loves gymnastics just like her mom did! (Donna
explains the gap in their ages by admitting, "We're both procrastinators!" )
Donna works in Accounting for Texas Instruments of Dallas, TX and looks
forward to seeing everyone in June!

Kevin Hancock is just around the corner in Greenbrier where he teaches 6th
and 7th grade and is currently working on a Masters in school
administration. Kevin is still participating in the Navy with the Reserves
(hoping he is not called, but always ready to serve). His wife, Tracey,
still "tolerates him" (HIS words, not mine!!!) after 9 years and they have
two wonderful girls (Dani 7, and Emma 3). He jokes that "the three-year-old
is going to be the one that kills me." Kevin also looks forward to seeing
everyone this summer!

Tina Thrasher Parker currently works at Acxiom Corporation at the Conway
location. She was in the medical field for 14 years before going to Acxiom
in June, 2000. She says, "It was a BIG transition, but a great decision!"
Tina's divorced and has been dating an air traffic controller at the L.R.
Airport since January, 2001. She says that his stories are interesting, but
his stress level is OUT THERE....... we'll get to meet him at the reunion!
Tina has 1 son, age 12 - going on 21! She thinks he has the numbers
reversed in his mind!!! His name is Cole, and he'll be 13 in February.
Everyone says that he looks like his mama!

Lavonne Smith Norman been married to her husband Ken for 17 years. (Will be
18 by the time this reunion takes place). She wrote, "We have 4 wonderful
kids. Josh is 13, Daniel is 11, Justin is 10 and Makenzie is 10 months. No
that is not a misprint! Best surprise of my life...finally a girl! Ken and
I own a construction company here in Conway. I was a computer programmer
and then a bookkeeper for our business until so many babies started taking
up my time. I am now a full time Mom and loving it. This is what I was
truly meant to be."

Caught up with Tracy Mills over the holidays...Tracy now goes by Roger these
days and is a Senior Staff Engineer for Entergy in their Resource Planning
group. He has been married to his wife Mary Lewallen from Jacksonville, AR
for 14 years. They have two boys - Roger, 7, and Mason, 4.

Jeff Boyd sent his good news last night... He is a Federal Officer with the
Immigration and Naturalization Service in Houston, Texas. He and his wife
Jennifer have been married two years and are expecting their first child in
May -- (the doctor says it's a girl!) They also have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 4
horses. Jeff says that he's looking forward to seeing everyone in June.

just start making stuff up...that'd be fun, too! Hhhhmmmmm...

TOUCHIING BASE 3...

More news from old friends...

Debbie Woodard Browers has been working at Acxiom in Conway for about 6
years now. She is a data administrator and works closely with her customer,
Allstate, often going for onsite visits in Chicago. Debbie has been married
to Darren Browers, also an Acxiom associate, for 2 1/2 years, and they
recently bought a new home in Greenbrier. Debbie has a 14-year-old son,
Justin, from her first marriage and was a stay-at-mom until her current job.
Justin is on the honor roll at school, plays on the football team, and keeps
Debbie busy with carpooling duties. She says, "If you couldn't tell, he is
my pride and joy!" Debbie also has a stepson, Hayden, who is almost 4, whom
she says is "...just precious and too smart for his own good!"

Stacie Nunn Mobley and husband, Brian, have lived the last five years in
Charlotte, North Carolina. (Brian is an '84 grad of Fort Smith Northside and
the two married in 1991 - Debbie Woodard Browers was a bridesmaid!) Stacie
earned a BS in journalism at UCA and has worked in the Information Office at
UAMS and as Communications Director for the Arkansas Science & Technology
Authority. After she and Brian got together, they moved to Dallas and she
continued working in publications. After several moves related to Brian's
work in banking software, Stacie is most recently enjoying being a
full-time Mom to Lauren Annalee Nunn Mobley, born in June 2000. She says
her last 18 months have been a whirlwind of mommyhood. They stay busy with
Kindermusik, gymnastics, library storytimes and playgroups ... which
Stacie faithfully documents in a special scrapbooking project.

Georgia Clark Ross has been married to her husband John for 15 years. They
have two kids, Sarah, who just turned 14 and is in the 8th grade at Bob
Courtway, and Eva, who is 8 years old and in 3rd grade at JLMoore. Georgia
has been substitute teaching for about two years in the Conway Public School
district (K-8th grade). Her family enjoys camping, participating in Girl
Scouting activities, and helping her dad, who has a cow farm now.

Kimberly Walther Limcangco sent her story yesterday... Kimberly went to
college in Nashville TN, where she joined AF ROTC. She met husband, Michael,
while assigned in Washington DC. They married in 1992, moved a couple more
times, and had their first son, Delfin, in 1998. She left active duty after
he was born, and they moved to Phoenixville, PA where her husband now works
in satellite analysis, and she mostly stays home with their three kids --
another boy, Derek, born in 1999 and a little girl, Devon, born Feb. 2001.
She balances the kids with her continuing work w/the AF Reserves... Kimberly
is a Major at Willow Grove ARS and works with personnel management
activities. Her kids are just now getting into preschool, swim lessons, etc.
so she explains that scheduling has become a balancing act. Besides work
and the kids, Kimberly likes to garden and work out at the local YMCA.

Richard Carpenter got married 10 years ago, not long after coming back from
the Gulf War, to Van Anderson from Russellville, Kentucky. The couple has 3
children, all girls. They are Courtney - 20, his step-daughter who is
attending her second year at the University of South Carolina, Lauren
Mackenzie - 9, and Jordan Leigh -2. Richard has been in the Army for 14
years, 6 more to go before he can retire. At this time, he is a senior
instructor for military personnel officers in sunny Fort Jackson, South
Carolina. He will get his next class started in May, and then he will
attend Command and General Staff College in July. Because of these courses,
Richard is not sure they will be able to attend the reunion, but he says
that "it sure would be good to see everyone!"

Randall Dykes and his wife Christi will celebrate their sixth anniversary on
January 27. Randall has been playing professional softball for the last 14
years and is part owner in a courier service. He plans to only play ball for
a few more years because it requires him to travel 25-30 weekends each year,
and they plan to start a family once Christi has completed her masters
degree
in accounting at the U of A.

Mike Woiteshek and his family have been Indiana Hoosiers for the past 11
years. They live in Avon, which is a suburb right outside Indianapolis.
Mike's wife Shelli is from Morrilton, and they have two kids - Ashley (age
8)
and Austin (age 5). Mike is an Operations Manager for Belkin, which is "a
network cabling, computer accessory manufacturer/distributor." Shelli is a
Controller for Bisys, Inc., which is an insurance/financial software
licensing firm. Most of their spare time is spent shuffling their kids to
soccer, softball, baseball and gymnastics, but they also enjoy the Indy
racing.

Dan Nixon emailed this morning... whaddya know? He's the proud dad of 8-year-
old boy/girl TWINS. (Danny & Donna all over again -- talk about paying for
your raising!) Dan has lived in Austin, TX for 10 years, is "happily
divorced", and has been a firefighter for 6 years. He spent 3 years on
active duty in Germany during the Cold War and is currently a major in the
army reserves.

Steve Thomas also checked in today... he is in Kyle, Texas - right outside
of Austin. Steve is married to wife Cindy and has two step-kids, 24 and 22.
He says, "Yes, I found I like older gals." GRANDPA Steve also has two
grandboys -Jacob and Joe, 9 and 6. He has gotten the "whole xperience" --
getting up at 2 and changing dirty you-know-whats. He works for
Famousfootwear. The last few months of 2001 were hard for his company. He
changed jobs only to have the attacks on New York change the whole landscape
of what they were trying to do. He and his wife are starting their own
catering business, and, of course that is hard when no one is spending
money. With typical Stevemean-optimism, he asserts that they will prevail!
Right now, he is back with Famousfootwear, and is in line for a new store in
Houston which will be a 15,000 sq ft store that does about 4 mill a year.
Steve and family have about 1.5 acres and a small house -- He invites anyone
who wants to come and mow! Says "it's great in the summer when it's 105 with
90% humidity - and you thought it was hot in Arkansas."

By the way --- your reunion committee has ordered temps in the mid-70s and
low humidity for our June reunion, so Conway will be THE place to be in
June! Just thought you'd want to know.

Gray and Judi Lehmann Standridge have been married for 12 years. They have
two children - Margaret Ann (age 10) and Nathaniel (age 6). Gray has worked
for Stephens, Inc. for 16 years and Judi is a homemaker.

Leanne Lester Kirby is married to Michael Kirby (brother of Kathy Kirby
Lehmann, class of 81). She shares, "We have two children...Kara, age 8, who
is a straight-A second-grader at Sallie Cone and is active with her PeeWee
All-Star Cheerleading Squad from Sonshine Academy... and Jacob, age 13, who
is in the seventh grade at Carl Stuart Middle School. He played seventh-
grade football this past fall for Carl Stuart (they were the BOMB - winning
every game but one). He's looking forward to further tackling escapades
playing football for the eight-grade team next year! He also plays in the
school band. I, on the other hand, have been in the newspaper business since
the long ago year of 1985. I have worked in the art departments of the Log
Cabin Democrat, the Arkansas Gazette (before being bought be the Democrat)
and the Thrifty Nickle. I am currently working for the Arkansas Democrat-
Gazette (6 years in April) as Promotions Department Designer. Yes...I am a
designing fool! Between work and my two kids with all of their social
engagements and extra-cirricular activities, we stay pretty busy. I can't
wait to see everyone at the reunion this summer."

Marty and Rhonda (Livingston) Aist have been married for 15 years and have
two great kiddos - Alexandria (age 11) and Connor (age 6). Marty and Rhonda
are a VERY close couple...even broke their arms together last fall -- now is
that true love or what?! (I know. You'll get me back later!) Marty is in
sales with a company named Flexion Material Handling and Rhonda is a
homemaker who volunteers at JLMoore Elementary quite a bit. (Lucky us!!!)

Pat Raney has this to share..."The night we all graduated, after the
ceremony when everyone was standing around saying goodbyes and don't forget
me, the most wonderful thing happened to me. Lynn Owen, class of 84, and I
began to talk. We had met before, but I had never really talked to her. Well
long story short, I asked her out for that Friday and she said yes. Our
first date was on May 29th. On May 30th we were married and on May 31st, our
oldest son Joshua was born. This was 1982, 1987, and 1991 respectively. Two
years later on June 17th, 1993, our other son Jacob was born. In 1999, we
moved back to Mayflower. Lynn has been teaching there since 1987. The boys
are in the 5th and 3rd grade at Mayflower and enjoy living on the farm. Both
boys are active in 4-H and enjoy showing HOGS at the county and state fairs.
I have the pleasure of coaching both boys in baseball, football, and
basketball. I graduated from UCA in 1986 and went to work for Wal-mart. I
worked and saw most of our classmates there until 1996. From there, I went
to work for Farmers Fire Insurance and this is where I still work. Life has
been very good to me!"

This in from Jamie Holt... He and wife Cindy have been married 11 years
[10/06/90]. They have two little people: Davis - 7 years old and Bailey -
4 years old [born on the 4th of July] and 1 dog Nemo [a Great Dane/Golden
Retriever mix]. Jamie runs Corporate Security for Acxiom. He's been there
for about a year & a half. Prior to that, he put in 12 years with the Dept.
of Justice as a criminal investigator while/after earning a Master's in
Criminal Justice from UALR in 1990 and a B.S. in Political Science from UCA
in 1988. Cindy works at their church [First United Methodist in Conway] as
a teacher in the Early Childhood Education program. And as he puts
it "there you go... a lifestyle of the rich and famous."

Bart and Marsha (Fulton) Joyner have been married for a little over 10
years. She is employed at Fulton Press, which is family-owned, where she
sells printing, especially commercial-type advertisements (brochures,
posters, magazines, etc.). They have one son, Jett, who will be four in
March and two "hairy kids", Reeves and Taylor. They are two "dash-hounds"
professionally trained to stop blind midgets from breaking into their home.
(Which is good since Bart is a self-proclaimed hermit. Wouldn't want
intruders, you know.) Bart has been employed at Conway Corporation for the
past 11 years. He is involved in the purchasing of all materials for the
different departments.

Brooks and Pam (Berry) Lawrence (class of 84) have been married for 16 years.
They have three children Ben 11, Caleb 9, and Anna 5. The Lawrences live in
Conway where Brooks is in private practice as a Family Physician.

Jeff Pascoe and his wife Cindy met in college at the U of A in 1986. (She
grew up in Springdale.) They got married in 1989 and have 5 children
(Michael - 9, Samantha - 6, Rachel - 5, Phillip - 2 and Lawson - 2 mos).
Jeff has an MBA from Fayetteville and has been working at Acxiom for the
past 8 years. He mainly focuses on corporate finance related things
(mergers, acquisitions, capital structure...) Before that he was at
Stephens Inc. in Little Rock for 4 years in the corporate finance dept. as a
financial analyst. Jeff says, "I enjoy playing with my family when I am not
working. We enjoy our church, camping, snow skiing, motorcycles,
skateboards, rollerblades... We would enjoy living on some land some day.
Samantha would like a horse. Me too."

Kevin Luck and his wife Kim have been married for eleven years. They have
two+ children: Kyle (age 4) Kent (age 2) and one more 7 months away! Kevin
has been a Financial Analyst with Acxiom Corp. for five years.

Another Acxiom-employed classmate is Holly Marr. Holly is single (no
children) and still lives in Conway, but also has a lake house in Fairfield
Bay which she tries to get to as often as possible. Greers Ferry Lake is
one of her favorite places. Holly has worked at Acxiom since graduating
from Hendrix in '86. Currently, she is a Group Leader responsible for their
Insurance, Brokerage and Automotive industries. When not at work, Holly
likes to travel and enjoy outdoor activities.

Granger Davis sends this news along... "After graduating from UCA (finally),
I lived in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi where I made my living hustling
in pool halls (Scott Zier and Jeff Boyd still owe me money). I eventually
moved back to Arkansas where I met my future bride. Jan and I will be
married 9 years in May. We have two children, Carson Granger (age 5) and
Emma Jackson (age 2). Plus our golden retriever, Maggie Mae. I've been in
the brokerage business for 12 years and joined forces with my father a
couple of years ago in Conway. We have the Edward Jones office on "Toad
Suck Square" - SALUTE! I'm also Mel Gibson's body double for all his movie
stunts. Hobbies include work, tennis, volunteering within the community,
making fun of myself, and spoiling my wife and kids as much as possible
without making them rotten."

Jeff Sprott writes that he has been married happily since 1989. His wife's
name is DeeAnn and they have four children, three girls and a boy: Kelleigh -
age 11, Samuel - age 8; and twin five year olds named Shelby and Rachel.
Jeff was a Firefighter/EMT and Captain with the Springdale Fire Department
for 16 years, but a neck injury on duty caused him to have to retire early.
However, completing his education allowed him in 1999 to become the Fire
Science Program Director at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in
Bentonville. Instead of doing the actual firefighting, he now teaches the
theory behind firefighting and the fire service organization. The college
partners closely with NW Arkansas' area fire departments, and his graduates
receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science
Administration and Technology. Jeff enjoys this position, but still misses
responding on emergencies to help people. He says, "The good Lord has
blessed me and my family. Most of my family still lives in Conway, so I am
there regularly for visits. I'm not sure I will be able to make the reunion
due to summer teaching commitments, and if not, I will think about
my "Wampus Cat" classmates. May God bless you and yours, Jeff."

Christopher Tolleson writes that he attended school at UCA, UALR and UofA
Fayetteville. He moved to Dallas for several years and was a police officer
for the city of Dallas. Currently, he works for National Telephone here in
Conway doing communications systems design. He has an 18-year-old former
step-daughter Amanda, a 9-year-old son Christopher, a 7-year-old daughter
Shannon, a 5-year-old step-daughter Kaity, and Baby T is not here yet but
will be sometime late July. Christopher remarried about a year and a half
ago. His wife Heather is a school teacher in Mayflower. They attend church
at Harlan Park Baptist and the kids really enjoy the Awana program there.
Christopher says, "Although I miss being an officer in Dallas, I really
enjoy being back home near family and friends."

This just in from Derrick Sewell... "Hello everybody, I'm so glad to see
that everyone's doing ok. Well, Pamela (Beacham) and I will have been
married 19 years in July and she's looking younger than ever and I'm going
all out for the "most bald trophy" this time. We have 2 great kids "Darren"
who's 18 and attending UCA as a freshman this year. and "Chavon" who's 13
and in the 8th grade at Bob Courtway this year. I'm the owner of Sewell
Construction Co. here in Conway, this is our 1st year although we're doing
pretty good, and Pamela has been employed at Acxiom for the past 10 years.
Hey we're looking forward to seeing all the former "Wampus Cats" and may God
bless you all!"

Greg Lasker writes... "As for me and my life, I reside here in Conway with
my wife Rosa (married 10 years) and two kids Kristina and Luis- 8 and 4.
Both of us have our own businesses. I manage The Lasker Group, Inc. (General
Construction Services) providing Buildings & Foundations. Rosa manages
Arkansas Apparel Graphix & Promotional Products (Imprinted Wearables and
Non-Wearables) T-shirts, caps etc.../pens,pencils,coffee mugs... Just a
nice normal existence (boring) but this is what we do!"

This in from Bruce Casebier... He and his wife Jackie have been married for
4 years. They have one son, Jared, who is 4. Bruce says that Jared goes
to "PRESCHOOL, not day care" (There's probably a story there...!) and that
they live in Mayflower. Bruce is part owner of Jamar, Inc. He has been
there for 20 years. His wife is an accounting assistant at Tipton Hurst in
Little Rock. Their family enjoys traveling, riding four-wheelers and are
Nascar Fans. Bruce says, "while I like to bow fish, my wife likes to shop."
(Hey, sounds about right to me!)

email, Tena adds, "I'm building a home off Germantown PKWY (down from Wolfe
Chase Mall). If anyone would like to help, please advise."

Robin Jones Wilcox sent her news today..."I live in Mason, Ohio which is a
suburb of Cincinnati. I moved here when my husband took a new job here. My
husband is Dale Wilcox and he's from Michigan. We met when he was a
consultant for a company I worked for in Little Rock. We have been married
6 1/2 years and he's a terrific husband and the world's greatest Dad. I
have two sons- Adam- 13, Drew- 12 from a previous marriage and have two sons
with Dale- Ben- 4, and Jake- 2. My kids are wonderful and keep us very busy
to say the least. We all love Cincinnati and we do get back to Conway 3-4
times a year since my parents and grandmother still live in the Conway
area. I have a BS in Accounting and a BBA in Finance from UALR. I worked
in public accounting as a CPA and in private business for awhile. After
Dale and I got married I stayed home with my kids for about 4 yrs then went
back to work part-time at GE in Cincinnati when we moved here. I just
recently took a full-time position with a small software company here in
Cincinnati- Medplus, Inc. I'm their one and only financial analyst and I
love my job. It's really strange at this job because I'm one of the oldest
people there which was quite a slam which I guess we're all starting to
feel!"

This in from Pam Harmon Valley... "I am happily married to a wonderful man
(Mike) of 18 years in July. We have a beautiful daughter Bethany Leanne. She
is 13 years old and in the 7th grade. Currently we are stationed in
Silverdale, Washington at the Bangor Submarine Base. My husband is in the
United States Navy. In May he will be in 21 years. We are looking at
retiring next year and going back to Conway where my family is. His family
is there in Perryville and Plummerville. We won't be able to attend the
reunion, my parents are flying out here around that time."

This from Elmo Irby today... "I HAVE LIVED IN THE CABOT AREA FOR THE LAST 10
YEARS. 4 YEARS AGO I MOVED TO WARD, AR. I AM MARRIED AND HAVE 4 CHILDREN.
2 STEP CHILDREN AND 2 WITH MY WIFE. WE'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 9 YEARS. MY
STEPDAUGHTER IS 18, MY STEPSON IS 12, MY OLDEST BOY 8 AND MY YOUNGEST IS 6.
I AM ON ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE U.S. AIR FORCE AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO
ATTEND. PLEASE SEND MY REGRETS TO EVERYONE AND TELL THEM I SAID HELLO.
NEXT YEAR I WILL HAVE MY 20 YEARS IN MILITARY SERVICE AND HOPE TO RETIRE SO
I CAN TAKELIFE EASY AND WATCH MY CHILDREN GROW UP. THEY REALLY MISS THEIR
DADDY AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I'M GONE. WE GO TO CHURCH AT FIRST FREEDOM
BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE I AM A DEACON. I ACCECPTED THE LORD IN MY LIFE 10 YEARS
AGO AND 5 YEARS AGO WAS ORDAINED AS A DEACON IN THE CHURCH. THAT HAS BEEN
THE GREATEST TIME IN MY LIFE, SERVING OUR LORD. WELL I BETTER GO FOR NOW,
I'M AT WORK AT SHEPPARD AFB TEXAS. TELL ALL I SAID HELLO AND GOD BLESS."

Tammy Lasker emailed her news today... "When we graduated I had a one way
ticket to New York and had no intention of coming back. Well I stayed for
17 years. While there I attended and graduated from New York University and
also went to the military. I served in the Army Reserves as a Medical
Specialist for 8 years and left with a Honorable discharge. I have one son,
T. Mike Askew who attends Carl Stuart Middle school. I have been home for
about 5 years and I am enjoying it. What's next? Well I've done the East
Coast now it may be the West. We will see. I am enrolled at UCA and I
travel quite a bit with my job. It's been a long time and I look forward to
seeing all of you. Tam"

From Chris Reese... "I currently reside in Nashville, AR. My proudest
accomplishment is my 13 yr. old son Trent. He is a great kid!!! I am a
single parent, however my x-wife have an absolutely pro-Trent relationship.
After all, we have be divorced for 12 years. In 1999 the United States
Junior Chamber of Commerce elected me to serve as their 79th National
President. This was a result of many years of service to the community.
This service was not all my own, but an accumulation of many people. I will
be eternally grateful for the opportunity. I have been told that I am a
leader, teacher (trainer), communicator, and most importantly FRIEND. I
still don't believe it, but I have been fortunate. I've traveled to 48
states, 9 foreign countries, given countless seminars and speeches, met with
government, corporate, and community leaders around the globe. It was an
experience of a lifetime. If things don't work out and I cannot make it to
the reunion ( I AM TRYING). Remember this: We may never be as good as we
think we will; But, if we quit trying we lose; We may never be as good as we
thought we were; But, if we quit believing we lose; We may never be as
optimistic as we thought we were; But, if we quit looking we lose; As long
as we BELIEVE in LOOKING at PEOPLE TRYING; WE WILL NEVER LOSE!!
The Class of 1982 will NEVER LOOSE!!! Chris"

From Becky Burkett, or Rebecca Johnson as she's known today! "My family and
I have been gone from the Conway area for over 10 years and just relocated
back to Arkansas a little over 2 years ago. You may remember
my name as Becky Burkett, however, I've been called Rebecca Johnson for so
long now that when I hear someone call out "Becky", I know it's gotta be
someone from high school. After living in Dallas, Springdale/Fayetteville
area, and Colorado, we decided to relocate back to Arkansas. My husband,
Marlon (we met while he was a student at UCA), is employed by Southwestern
Bell Telephone in Engineering. I have returned to school again and plan to
graduate from UAMS. We have two children, Amber, 17, a senior at Vilonia
High School, and Tanner, 11, a 6th grader also at Vilonia. I see a few
classmates from time to time and it's great to just visit in the middle of
Wal-Mart or the grocery store. I wish all of you a great time at the
reunion."

Reactions to the 20th Reunion

(6/24/02) "Hats off to you!!!! It was great and we had a blast. I wish that I could have gotten to know some of you better way back then..." Scott and Jennie (Bushnell) Marvel (6/24/02) Brent Courtney summed it up nicely: "what a class act." (6/24/02) "Girls- I just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work in putting on a great reunion. It went by so fast but I hope we can all get together again in two years. Keep in touch! Bart" Hhmmmmm... gosh, it would be SO EASY to take ALL the credit... but there were some guys who helped too! Besides me, Lila, Lee, Leanne, Tina, Carol, Kris, Judi and (I'm probably forgetting somebody!) there was Brad, Jamie, Todd, Dennis, Scott, Pat, Gray -- help! Who have I forgotten?! Anyway, it was a group effort, and we're ALL glad you enjoyed it! (6/24) Let's see... Brad, Tina (Thrasher) Parker, Leanne all had nice things to say about seeing old friends again. Leanne even said she'd do it over again in a heartbeat... so she's DEFINITELY on the 40th bday committee! HA! (6/25/02) Debbie (Woodard) Browers had gotten the scoop from Kevin Luck at work and wrote to say she hopes to make the next one! (She missed this one because of family stuff.) (6/27/02) Lavonne wrote looking for the website address -- said she had a wonderful time. Scott Brown agreed that "everyone looked great and seemed to have a wonderful time..." ~~ You guys that skipped the reunion -- are you regretting it yet? No? Okay, keep reading... :) We'll keep working on you for the next one! ~~ (6/28/02) Let's see, Tena (Wright) Byrd wrote that she "had a ball at the reunion" AND gets extra brownie points from me for updating her address information already! (I don't want to lose track of ya'll again! It was too hard to FIND some of you in the first place!) (7/1/02) Stacy (Fugett) Whillock also sent updated info about her email address, so she's on my A list as well! (Stacy missed the reunion at the last minute because of her health, but she's feeling better now and getting back into the swing of things.) (7/2/02) Donna (Dukes) Williams dropped a line saying thanks "... the website great pictures)is by far, the next best thing to being there. I was able to see some of my old buddies, and you all look GREAT!!! I double hate that I missed out on all the fun, I will definitely be attending the next one." Ah, now THAT'S what we want to hear! (7/7/02) Got a neat email from Annette Knauer, who was our exchange student from Germany. She found our website while surfing the net and wants to share her news... "When I went back to Germany I had to spend three more years in German school to get the "Abitur" which enabled me to go to university here in Germany. I decided to study food chemistry. After that I was ready to detect anything in food: fat, water, protein, vitamins, minerals, pesticides, heavy metals and so on. With this knowledge I worked for a company in the lab and was responsible for the quality assurance. After a little break (I had the idea to start all over again and to learn something completely new) I went back to my profession. Now I am working for a company that is specialized to detect genetically modified organisms (GMO) in feed, food and seeds. The people here in Europe are quite concerned of that topic and we have stricter rules regarding GMO than the US. The company (GeneScan) has also a branch in New Orleans, LA - so some time I might visit the South again. I work as a "Key Account & Sales Manager" - so I am in close contact with our customers. To come to the private side in my life: After many years in another town I moved back to my home town Bremen two years ago. I am happy and I would say that I lead a fulfilled life. At the moment I am a single (and I am sure this status will change very soon :-). I spend a lot of my spare time with music: I started to sing a lot in a- capella groups. In August I will spend a week in France and attend a voice class for a week. I love these creative events a lot and they are an important part in my life. Best regards from Germany to the whole class of '82 Annette" Pretty cool, huh?! She sent a recent photo which I've put on the "Snapshots" page. (7/8/02) Dan Nixon wrote that he hopes to make the 40th bday party. (I didn't give him TOO hard of a time for bailing at the last minute since he was serving our country instead of attending the 20th reunion.) (7/9/02) Robin (Jones) Wilcox had a good question... she asked about getting a copy of the reunion booklet... But the thing is, no one on the committee had any extra time to put one together, so we all decided that the website would have to do. Robin also wanted to know..."WHO invited all those OLD PEOPLE to our reunion?!" HA! Wonder who she means? I didn't see any old people... did you?! Amy Raymond and Michelle (Westmoreland) Flynn also sent kind kudos about the website that day. (7/10/02) This newsy one from Butch Richardson... "Looks like it was a great reunion -- sorry I missed it. Now I know why people wear name tags. It took me a while figure out who some people were and still don't remember some of them. Thanks for putting names on all the pictures -- some people have really changed. I will try my best to come to the 40th birthday party. I have lived in California since 1986 and have been married to my wife Karla for 10 years. We have no human kids just our dog Trixie who lives for playing ball and Frisbee. We live about 40 miles east of San Francisco (Me, Amy Raymond, Mike and Jo Anna Keele and Brent Courtney all live within a 25 mile radius of each other, weird huh?) and really enjoy it, can't beat the CA weather. I am a General Contractor and have owned my own construction business since 1999 and my wife has been a RN at a local trauma hospital since 1989. I trust that every thing is going well with you and I'm sure that I am not the only one that thinks You, Lila and Lee have done a terrific job on the reunion and especially web site (it's a lot of work but you get all the gossip first). I am glad to see that you are not going to cancel the web site, it really cool to see what old classmates are up to. Take care and keep in touch. Butch" (7/11/02) Mike Smith mentioned missing the 10-year reunion and how that made this one even better. I have to agree -- I missed the 10-year, too. (7/11/02) Pennie (Bane) Chandler emailed today -- still NO grandbaby news! She PROMISES to write when he/she finally arrives!!! (For those of you who missed this... Pennie's daughter... (yeah, the one I taught in first grade!!! Talk about OLD!) Anyway, she had a false alarm right in the middle of the Friday night gathering! That's why Pennie was walking around with the worried expression and the cell phone attached to her ear! (7/17/02) Scott Zier sends his regards..."It looks like a good time was had by all at the reunion. I am sorry that I missed out on all the fun. I had anticipated to make it but the company I work for (Compaq) was acquired by Hewlett Packard in a very messy and public fight. All of us were walking on needles after the shareholders vote, lawsuit that was filed by one of the HP board members and founders relatives and then dismissed. The two companies became one on May 7th. I am still around. I did spend sometime in Conway over the 4th of July. Wish it would have been the same weekend as the reunion. I hope to make it to the 40th birthday party. If any of you are ever in Omaha let me know. We have a great Zoo, College World Series (in June), and the SAC museum plus a lot of other things to do. Take care and I hope to hear from some of you soon. My e-mail address has changed. It is scott.zier@hp.com." (7/18/02) Phil Stamps wrote in from island paradise to thank us for the reunion pics on the website. He said they were "a trip" -- I'm supposing that's because we all still look SO YOUNG, don'tcha think?! (7/24/02) Richard Grant touched base and expressed his disappointment in missing the reunion. Seems the classmates.com email address I used to send him information was defunct. But he says he'll try to make the 40th birthday party instead. (7/27/02) Ran into Brooks Lawrence's wife, Pam (Berry) at a restaurant yesterday. Told her to please fuss at Brooks for us since he skipped out! Then I saw Kathy Dyer Davis at the doctor's office. I fussed at her personally, but just a little bit! (I tend to be on the shy side myself!) Also, saw Paul Cato the other day (he had gone out of town the reunion weekend). We'll just all have to work on these guys who didn't, couldn't, or wouldn't come for the next one. Hhmmm, I wonder, who's going to turn 40 first? Who's the baby of our group? Sorry about the Friday Night pictures... it's been a busy few weeks -- I'll try to add Lila's this week . Haven't received Barry's yet. Anyone else have photos to share? (You can mail me prints, I'll transfer them to a disc, and send your prints back to you.) Did you hear about Clay Guinn (class of '81) winning the bass tournament thing? Wow! Fishing paid off BIG that day! (8/5/02) Heard from Pennie (Bane) Chandler... her grandson, Lane Michael Chandler-Rasdale, arrived on July 18. Mom and baby are doing fine. Pennie says she'll send a picture when she has a minute to catch her breath! (11/13/02) Have heard from several on our "lost list" since the reunion... Cindy Thorpe Buddenberg, Scott Wheeler, etc. As people turn up, I'm trying to add their info to the site. Beth Taylor Flippo updated me on her info... She and husband Stan live in Greenbrier and have 2 children, a son, Kalin, who is 13 and a daughter, Katy who is 11. They no longer have guardianship of Stan's nephew and nieces -- the kids are back at home with mom and doing great! The Flippos own an embroidery and screen printing shop in Greenbrier called "Cadron Creek Creative Wear". Stan works there full time. Beth works there and at The Brier Patch ChildCare Center as Director. More news as you send it... Take care, Julie
