What's going on these days with you and your family?
Hello from Julie! The past five years have flown by, and it's
reunion time again! I'm staying busy these days trying to keep up with my
13-year-old son, Zack. He plays basketball and is also involved in lots
of church youth group activities -- so that's what I'm involved in too!
(I'm sure all of you parents out there can relate.) When you have a
minute, please send an e-mail and let us know how you are doing.
Lisa Fulmer Dyer wishes us a Merry Christmas from Lawton, Oklahoma
where she is enjoying her new job as an Education Specialist for the US
Army. She says that she loves "working with the Soldiers ~ a must since
I've been married to one for the past 24 years (25 in March)."
Amy Raymond writes, "I've been married to Scott Snyder since 1994,
and we have two kids, Rachel (born 2000) and Grant (born 2004). Scott works
at a pharmaceutical company in San Francisco, and I've been taking care of
the kids since I finished my Ph.D. in Archaeology."
Jeff Boyd sends this news... "Greetings, 2007 finds my family and I
living Fort Worth, Texas where I am working for the Department of Homeland
Security. We recently welcomed our second child into the world, a girl,
which makes two since the last reunion."
Tim Dawson shares, "Dora and I are about to celebrate 21 years of
marriage. I am going to try and get back in June, but will not promise
anything as the oilfield is so crazy. We now live in Mississippi at our deer
camp and enjoy it."
Suzan Lambert writes..."After 9/11, I decided life was too short to
continue doing things that do not make you happy. I quit my job at Molex,
and spent the next year in cosmetology school, so I could do what I really
wanted to do .... live in our weekend home at Higden on Greers Ferry Lake
full-time. Which I did. My boys Jeramy (now 20) and Trey (18) graduated
from Westside High School in Greers Ferry. Fortunately, or unfortunately,
during all of this, Frank and I decided another change needed to be our
going our separate ways. A little over a year ago (Dec. '05), I met a
wonderful man on the internet, who just happened to live in Vermont. After
many months of long-distance dating, Trey graduating high school and moving
back to Conway for work, I moved to Montpelier, Vermont. I am now surviving
my first New England winter (-17 degrees this morning) as a stylist at
Zerafa Salon and Day Spa in the BEAUTIFUL capital city of Montpelier ....
population 9,000. I am only 20 minutes from wonderful skiing, snowboarding
or snow mobiling in Stowe, Vermont, or 2 hours from the great culture of
Montreal, Canada in one direction or the beautiful sea coast of Maine in the
other! Anybody that wants to come visit is welcome, as we do have an extra
bedroom ... as long as you don't mind sharing with our cats and my mini-
doxie Cooter Brown!"
Julie, I plan on coming to the club to see everyone. Thanks for getting it
together,Dana Jennings [Dana Anthony]
(note from Julie: LILA gets ALL the credit for getting us together! I’m just
the Web site gal.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although I would love to come I just cannot swing it during the school year
unfortunately. Here is some recent news for my family. I just dropped my
son off for his freshmen year at Duke University in North Carolina. We are
extremely proud of him! He finished 5th out of almost 800 in his high
school in May and managed to play football all 4 years. He is currently
planning to major in biology and plans to pursue medical school following
that. (Not sure where he gets it.) My daughter is an 8th grader and is
running cross country (and has a meet the weekend of the reunion). She is a
great student and also one of my best Spanish students! I still teach
Spanish I at one of our middle schools. My husband who retired from active
duty military two years ago was recently chosen for a new director position
within DOD (as a civilian). The job is based in DC but fortunately it is
quite global and they are letting him base out of Texas. Everything is
great - just feeling the "half empty nest."

Julie: Please pass on my regrets for the reunion in Oct.
I am still on active duty in the Army and stationed in Alexandria, Virginia
where I am responsible for the planning and execution of the distribution of
the active duty enlisted force. Since my last update my travels have taken
me though Kansas, Alaska and the last two years in Virginia. I have finally
gone over 20 years and we are starting to plan life after hanging up my
boots (retirement). Looks like we will start our new chapter in the
Northern Kentucky area in about 2 years. Time to settle down and allow my
girls to have a little stability for a while. Richard Carpenter

Good to hear from everyone, maybe one of these days we can get everyone

a day in the old school so that we could do a schedule so that you go from

move to another group.
